After researching and actually designing the pages, I now began to Make the web page using iweb. One important feature that I need to incorporate on the page is a logo for the school website. To create this I used photoshop and then imported the finished work onto the web page in iweb.

These are scanned drawings of how my school website will be laid out. I will try to stick to this format of my websites, however if I feel I can make changes to improve it layout then I will.

Brief for school website

For my AS level coursework I have been given an assignment to design and create two working pages for a school websites using iweb. These pages will consist of features which are conventional to school websites. For example, a navigation bar along the page and the schools badge. Functioning links should be provided on the page without any errors. The layout for websites are to look as described. At the top of the page where will be the name of the school accompanied by the schools logo, two columns are to come down the sides of the page allowing users to find information easily.    Pictures used for my website will be taken by myself and also some might be processed by using Photoshop. The target audience for the website would be mainly parents looking for schools for their children to go to. As this is made for parents, the website will be formal and smart as I would want the website to be attracted to the site. The second working page will be of the media department for parents to look at a department and see what the school has to offer in terms of education. This media page will be interactive and will have clips of work which has been created by others.

After looking at some website, I felt the need to create a survey as further part of my research. The survey is so I can gather more information from the potential audience as this would be much more effective as information about improvements would be coming straight from a reliable source. I will send out my survey to a minimum of 10 people in order to get useful information.

  

Website research

To help create my website for my school I looked at four different websites to see how they differ and what is similar between them. Also in looking at different websites i can see what features attract audiences and what is very useful to create a working website.

After learning how to use a camera, I then chose one of the pictures I captured and changed how it looks using photoshop. In using photoshop i am able to change the features of an image in order to create the best possible image in order to capture the audiences attention.

The above image is what I have done using photoshop. As you can see the background of the image has been blurred in order to make the image in the foreground stand out.

In this lesson I learnt how to use a camera. I was able to go out and take various pictures using a number of different shots and angles. In going out and taking pictures I feel I more confident when using a camera and will be able to take photos in order to create the best possible image.  

After taking pictures I chose one of them and was able to change how it looks by using photoshop. By using photoshop I am able enhance and change the features of a picture and make it look better than before.
